Collaboration!

I have been kicking this idea around for a while now, so I will go ahead and mention it though I do not see an immediate application for it, as I am not sure that my viewership is of sufficient size.  I would really love to have other people who know Flash and are decent at animation to collaborate on Pencilmation.  Animation people, story people, music and sound people…everybody!  I know this isn’t something that will happen immediately, but my eventual dream for Pencilmation is to have a enough people all around the world helping out that I can crank out a new cartoon every day or two.  It would be awesome!  And admittedly, it is a secret sub-motive for my creation of a how-to video…

Hopefully, this is a glimpse far into the future of my Pencilmations, but for now I am just going to keep cranking them out, trying to catch more and more eyes!

How-to Video

So I get lots of email asking about how exactly I make the Pencilmation cartoons.  That question is always sort of tricky to answer quickly—”well um…I use Flash, and the pencil and paper are photographs,” is generally the best response that I come up with.  Anyway, I’ve decided to film a how-to video that will guide people step by step through the entire process of making a Pencilmation episode.  I am really excited to do this, and I can’t wait to see what sort of response it generates.  I am pretty busy doing everything in the world right now, but hopefully in the next couple months I will have time to do it.  We’ll see…!
