It was only last week that I thought the Pencilmation DVD was doomed! Look now—we’ve nearly reached the goal! To celebrate, I decided to go ahead and design the front and back covers.

Fried Double Cheeseburger

This Kickstarter project has shattered my emotions, and so I have taken a break to deep fat fry a McDonalds double cheeseburger with my best pal.

(My buddy Nick, trying in vain to resist deep fried, golden charm.)

Anyway, long story short—we’ve returned the fryer to Target for full price. Never doing that again!

Now it’s back to work, so please look at my cartoons and think, “hmm, I want to buy a DVD of these plus lots of special features to give to my mom/dad/kid/pal/coworker/boss/girlfriend/boyfriend/neighbor for Christmas!” And then head over to the Pencilmation Kickstarter page!!!

I’m Not Finished Yet!

With only a little over a week to go, and only 60% of the goal reached, it would seem that there is little hope for this project to succeed…BUT I’M NOT GIVING UP YET!! Please, tell everyone you can about the Pencilmation DVD Project on Kickstarter, and I will keep doing everything I can to make this happen. Tom Fulp from Newgrounds just contributed $400 which helped a lot. Do you know anyone who could chip in? Remember that if you are ordering within the US, the DVD will arrive before Christmas (internationally, I will try my hardest!) This would make an excellent gift!

The DVD will contain all of my cartoons, plus a never-before-seen, not-available-online video explaining exactly how and why I make Pencilmation, so please help me if you can. Share the project with everyone, and let’s make some Pencilmation DVDs!!!

Pencilmation DVD: Not Looking Good…

Well, there are 14 days to go for the Pencilmation DVD project, and I don’t really know what to expect anymore. It started out great—but then I realized that most of the people contributing to the project were my friends, so when I ran out of friends to tell about the project, progress slowed drastically.

Where are all the loyal fans? What does 3,000 Facebook likes mean? Why am I devoting endless hours, animating cartoons just to upload them to YouTube for nothing in return?

This Kickstarter project is shedding some light on these questions, among others, and on December 12th, I can guarantee that things will be much different around here.

Moments ago, I launched a Kickstarter project to raise funds that will allow me to design and print Pencilmation DVDs. Check it out:

All 21 Pencilmation episodes
12 cartoons created before Pencilmation (Infinity Snail, the Monkey and the Coconut, Boogalah, etc.)
