Sound issues…

So, after I make my Pencilmations, I usually don’t go back and watch them, but today I did and realized that the sound is severely out of sync for most of them!! (At least it is on my computer…) Anyway, this is something that I really need to fix and am working on right now. I promise!

It's all a blur

That’s right folks, these days it’s hard to tell where one day ends and the next begins…  I have a few new Pencilmations cooking up, right around the corner. First, a new episode that I am working on, for whatever reason contains a bunch of Alice in Wonderland references, and so naturally I decided to title it, Malice in Wonderland.  Second, I came across a Pencilmation episode with the stick guy that I started a couple of years ago and never finished, so I am in the process of adding some music to that and will show everybody.

And yes, Infinity Snail will be returning a few episodes from now, I assure you.

Pencilmation #6: Turtles in Time

New episodes and other stuff…

Lots of things on the brain these days….I’ve got a new Pencilmation that I’ll post on Monday. A Mickey Mouse -esque character is whipped forwards and back through time when the ever-devious pencil draws tracking controls at the top of of the page. It is my favorite so far and is entitled, Pencilmation #6: Turtles in Time.  I realize that there isn’t really a pun present in that title, though as you will see, there are turtles.  Rather, it is an homage to my favorite super nintendo game from the days of old.

Other thoughts: I am thinking about doing some Pencilmation clothing; funny little penciled scenes.  I’d love to hear anyone’s thoughts.  Another idea that popped into my head: flipbooks?

Anyway, rock and roll.

Trouble!

Man oh man…The whole site fell apart yesterday when I was trying to upgrade to WordPress 2.8. Anyway, I thought my problems were solved, but this morning I discovered that I couldn’t navigate off the front of the site without getting a 404. When will the future arrive? When can I just get up in the morning and say, “computer..website…now!” And have a beautiful website without any struggle? Soon enough I suppose…. “Computer…animation…now!” Sigh…

Anyway the point is, I think some stuff got deleted, so if you can’t find your little comment, don’t take it personally. Just come up with something better to say and say it again, and I will try to not stink at making websites.

Eye twitch

An eye twitch
You all may remember a certain scene from Pencilmation #2 in which our little stick friend becomes so stressed out that he develops an eye twitch momentarily before venting his frustration on his arch enemy the pencil.  Well, I am sorry to say that I HAVE DEVELOPED AN EYE TWITCH.  When I first noticed it, I thought that it’d be gone in a day or two but no… The bottom lid of my right eye has been twitching for about a month now.  Fortunately, I think it is dying down slowly but surely.  It’s not as bad as it was at first, but regardless, I generally don’t approve of my reality paralleling my animations.  Next thing you know I’ll be getting punched in the face by guys with moustaches.  Hmm…

Jellyfish

I went and saw a lecture on jellyfish last night and it got me excited about animating jellyfish. I think that a Jellyfish related Pencilmation may be in the works, but it’s going to be a while before that happens because I’ve got a couple other ideas I’m trying to get done first.  (And for all those people asking−yes, one involves the original stick man.  Actually wait, two involve the stick man!)

One other thing: I am experimenting with doing simpler music for the Pencilmation, just guitar and some percussion rather than the techo music that usually accompanies it. Here’s a sample of the music; let me know what you think of the change.

Pencilmation #5: To Beard or Not to Beard

Busy!

It’s true—I’m busy!  But the new episode will be ready on Monday, and it is entitled, To Beard or Not to Beard.  Maybe you can guess what it is about…
